Lookup Windows


Many windows in the Ditat TMS allow you to either type a record ID manually or click the Search button in the navigator field to open a lookup window. The lookup window lets you search through all existing records using a variety of parameters.


Quick Search

You can perform a Quick Search by pressing Enter while the cursor is inside the lookup text field. This opens a window displaying all records that contain the entered characters.

The Quick Search window works as follows:

  1. Edit the filter criteria and press Enter to search for records containing the specified text.

  2. Matched text is displayed in bold.

  3. Press the Down Arrow key to move the cursor to the results grid.

  4. Use the drop-down menu to change the field being searched.

  5. Use the Up and Down Arrow keys to navigate through matching records, then press Enter to select one.

This window will display all the records that contain the entered characters.

  1. You can edit the filter criteria and click the ENTER button to search for records that include text specified.

  2. The matched text will be displayed in bold.

  3. Pressing the DOWN key will move the cursor to the grid.

  4. The field you are searching through can be changed using the drop-down menu.

  5. You can navigate through the matching records with the UP and DOWN arrow keys and select a record by clicking the ENTER key.

Search Icons

Two icons are used throughout the Ditat TMS to indicate that search functionality is available for a field:

Indicates search functionality across the Ditat TMS.

Indicates search functionality within records.

Navigator Fields

The lighthouse icon marks a Navigator field. Navigator fields can be used in three ways:

  1. Type the exact name and press Tab to open an existing record or add a new one.

  2. Type part of the name and press Enter to perform a filtered search.

  3. Click the Lighthouse icon to open the full Lookup window.

Additional search filters can be added using the + (Plus) button or removed using the X button. Filters can also be combined for more refined results.

Button

Description

Cancel & Exit

Closes the lookup window without entering the selected record into the data entry form.

OK

Enters the selected record's ID into the data entry form and closes the lookup window.

Refresh

Updates the lookup results based on the currently entered parameters.

Reset Filter

Resets all search filters to their default state.

Export

Exports the current lookup results to a CSV file.

Lookup windows remember your customized searches for future use. To clear saved searches, either delete them manually or click Reset Filter to start fresh.

Using Parameters to Search

The lookup window provides multiple options for sorting and filtering results:

  1. Select a search parameter from the drop-down menu. If you select All, the text input field to the right will disappear.

  2. Enter the characters you are searching for in the field to the right of the parameter.

  3. Combine multiple parameters to further refine your results.

  4. Click Refresh to apply the parameters and view the results.

Example

Select the Ends With filter for the VIN parameter and enter 8. After clicking Refresh, the results will display all trucks with a VIN ending in 8
