Integrate with Samsara

Samsara Drivers
Field | Description |
Name | The driver's name received from Samsara. |
HOS Sync on | The date and time of the last HOS update from Samsara for this driver. |
License number | The driver's license number received from Samsara. If this matches a driver in Ditat, HOS will be linked automatically. |
State | The license state received from Samsara. |
Phone | The phone number received from Samsara. If this matches a driver's phone number in Ditat, HOS will be linked automatically. |
Driver | Manually select the Ditat driver to link to this Samsara record. |
Ditat will try to select the correct driver when importing the driver from Samsara. This process will only happen when the driver is first brought into Ditat.
Tip: It is recommended to have all drivers entered in Ditat before setting up the Samsara integration. This allows drivers to be linked automatically when their data is imported. If the integration is configured before drivers are added, they will need to be linked manually. Automatic driver matching only occurs when a driver is first brought into Ditat from Samsara.
IFTA miles are pulled from Samsara once a month, beginning on the 4th day of the month. If the miles are not yet available, the system will continue attempting to pull them until they are collected. Miles are collected per truck, per state, per month.
To allow Ditat to import IFTA miles from Samsara, the API token used must have the appropriate permissions. In Samsara, navigate to the Compliance section of the API token settings and ensure Full Read permission is enabled. If Read IFTA is not selected, no IFTA miles can be imported.
Reefer Tracking
Reefer temperature tracking requires full reefer units that are part of the ECU. Trailer-only temperature sensors without ECU integration are not supported.
GPS Tracking
For GPS tracking, Ditat matches the Samsara Asset ID to the Unit ID on the Maintain Device screen.
To begin tracking a truck using Samsara, add the corresponding device to the truck's profile in the Tracking Device field.
Sync Driver HOS
Ditat syncs HOS data using the driver linked on the Samsara Drivers page. Ditat will attempt to match drivers automatically using the following criteria:
Phone Number – If the phone number from Samsara matches a driver's phone number in Ditat, the driver will be linked automatically.
Driver's License – If the license number and state from Samsara match a driver in Ditat, the driver will be linked automatically.
If the wrong driver is linked, you can manually select the correct driver on the Samsara options screen.
