Important: Imported locations must be verified. After importing, please contact Ditat Support to complete the verification process at support@ditat.com.

Location Id

Location IDs can be up to 25 characters and must be unique within the system. If you enter an ID that already exists, that location record will be loaded for editing. Otherwise, a new location record will be created. Click here for more information on using the Record ID field.

Tip: When creating a Location ID, use something easily searchable — this is the field used when booking shipments. A common best practice is to use the company name with no spaces.

Address/Contact

Field	Description
Company name	Enter the company's name.
Address	Enter the street address. Latitude and longitude can also be entered here in the format LAT:xx.xxxx;LON:xx.xxxx.
Country/Zip/State/City	Enter the zip code to auto-fill the remaining fields.
Contact(First/Middle/Last)	Enter the primary contact's name.
Email address	Must be unique and valid. A valid email address increases system functionality, particularly for Ditat's email integrations.
Phone Number 1/2/3	Enter one or more phone numbers for this location.
Website	Must be entered in the format: `http://www.site.com`

Adding Locations by Latitude Longitude

You can enter Lattitude and Longitude in the address field in the following format LAT:xx.xxxx;LON:xx.xxxx.

Default Instructions

Field	Description
Dispatcher	Enter any instructions the dispatcher needs for this location. These instructions will appear on all shipments that use this location in the future.
Driver	Enter any instructions the driver needs for this location. These instructions will be sent to the driver any time this location is used on a trip.
Directions	Enter any directions needed for this location. These will be sent to the driver any time this location is used on a trip.
Hours	Enter the pickup and/or delivery hours for this location.
Drop & Hook	Check if this is a Drop & Hook location. This will auto-populate when the location is used on loads in the future.
Trailer pool required	If a trailer pool is required at this location, enter the number of trailers that should be kept on site.
Appointment required	Check if an appointment is required at this location. When checked, any shipment or trip using this location will automatically be flagged as appointment required.

Map Tab - Physical Location

Before a location can be saved, the entered address must be verified using the map. Click the Verify Address button and the address will be located on the map at the bottom of the tab.

Multiple Locations

When verifying a new location, the system will check for other locations with the same address. If a match is found, a pop-up will display the existing locations so you can choose to use one instead of creating a duplicate.

EDI Partner address codes

This section allows you to link a Ditat location to the location codes sent over by EDI partners for new loads. Multiple EDI partner codes can be assigned to a single Ditat location.

Field	Description
Partner	Select the EDI partner you want to link to this location.
Code	Enter the location code that the EDI partner sends for this location.

Customer Specific Instructions

This section allows you to add location instructions on a per-customer basis, which is useful when a location is shared across multiple customers.

Field	Description
Customer	Select the customer you want to add specific instructions for.
Location type	Select whether the instructions apply to Pickup, Delivery, or Any Stop.
Dispatcher notes	Enter any dispatcher-specific notes for this customer at this location.
Driver Notes	Enter any driver-specific notes for this customer at this location.
Directions	Enter any directions specific to this customer at this location.
Hours notes	Enter the hours that apply to this customer at this location.
Drop & Hook	Check if this is a Drop & Hook location for this customer. This will auto-populate when used on loads in the future.
Trailer Pool	Enter the trailer pool requirements for this customer at this location.
Appointment required	RequiredCheck if an appointment is required for this customer at this location. When checked, any shipment or trip for this customer using this location will automatically be flagged as appointment required.
