Data Entry Windows

Standard data entry window toolbars are made up of three sections:
Standard Buttons – Located on the left side of the toolbar and provide core functionality.
Record Navigation – Located on the right side of the toolbar for browsing through records.
Status Icon – Located on the far right of the toolbar, indicating the current state of the window.
All data entities in the system (such as drivers, trailers, etc.) have unique IDs. To look up a specific record or navigate to records, you can use the lookup parameters in the lookup windows. Click here for more information about the lookup tool.
Status Icon
The status icon indicates which of three states the data entry window is currently in.
Status | Description |
![]() | The form is blank and ready for you to create a new record or navigate to an existing one using the main lookup tool. |
![]() | A new record is being created. Click Save to persist the entered data. |
![]() | An existing record is open for editing. Click Save to persist your changes. |
Toolbar Functionality
Depending on a user's permissions, some buttons may not be accessible.
Button | Description |
![]() | Saves the entered data, closes the screen, and returns the form to the Start state. |
![]() | Saves the entered data and keeps the form in the Edit state. |

![]() | Opens a new window where you can rename the current entry. |
![]() | Deletes the current entry from the system and returns the form to the Start state. |
![]() | Opens or closes the Notes section for the current record. Click here for more information about the Notes button. |

![]() | Opens the Import Wizard. Click here for information on the import button. |
![]() | Opens the help section for the current tab in a new window. |
Entering a Record ID
You can find a record quickly by entering its ID in one of the following ways:
Type the exact ID of the entry and press Tab to open or add that record.
Type part of the name and press Enter to perform a filtered search.
Click the search button to the right of the ID field to open the lookup tool.

Browsing Through the Records
Use the navigation buttons on the right side of the toolbar to move through records sorted alphabetically or numerically by ID.
