Ditat TMS allows you to create Detentions that can be accessed on the Detentions board. These detentions are then able to be added to shipments during the invoicing process. This process can also be automated using Detention plans.

Email Notifications

If a template is entered into any of the notification field, the email will be sent using the Email account on the detention plan or by the default email account. if you do not wish to send email notifications, then leave all template fields blank.

The detention notification will only go to the email address for the contact type of “detention” under the Additional Contacts section of the customer profile.

Field	Description
Detention plan Id	The detention plan Id can be up to 25 characters in length and should be unique within the system. If you enter an Id that already exists in the system, the rate plan record will be pulled from the system and can be edited. Otherwise, a new rate plan record can be created.
Active	Check if this detention plan is being used. If this is not checked, then the system will not use this plan for calculating detentions.
Notify group	Enter the user group that should receive notifications here.
Pickup payment type	Select which payment type should be used when adding Detention for a pickup stop.
Delivery payment type	Select which payment type should be used when adding Detention for a delivery stop.
Start after	Select the time period to use to start calculating detention. If 2 hours is selected detention will start calculating after a driver has been at a stop for over 2 hours.
Charge	Select which increments you charge detention in.
Rounding	Select which rounding method should be used for this detention plan.
Charge maximum	Select the maximum amount of detention that should be charged for this detention plan.
Per hour amount	Enter the amount per hour to charge for this detention plan.
Charge on pickup	Check this box if you wish to add detention for pickup stops for this detention plan.
Charge on delivery	Check this box if you wish to add detention for delivery stops for this detention plan.
Charge on drop & hook	Check this box if you wish to add detention for drop & hook stops for this detention plan.
Late arrival allowed	Check this box if you wish to add detention if the driver arrived late at the stop for this detention plan.
Appointment required	Check this box if an appointment is required to charge detention for this detention plan.
Appointment set required	Check this box if an appointment has to have been set to charge detention for this detention plan.
Approval required	Check this box if a user must approve the detention before it can be added to an invoice for this detention plan.
Email account	Choose which email account to use to email customers about detentions.
Notify mail template	Select which email template you would like to use to notify customers about upcoming detentions.
Notify in advance	Choose the time in advance to notify customers via email about upcoming detentions. This only applies if you have a template in the Notify mail template field.
Starting mail template	Select which email template you would like to use to notify customers about detentions that have started to be calculated.
Charge mail template	Select which email template you would like to use to notify customers about detentions that will be charged.

The plan shown above is an example of a detention plan that would charge $65 an hour for detention after 2 hours in 15-minute increments for pickup or delivery stops for any type of appointment or First Come First Serve stops.
